This is our first offering to the world. We rather ambitiously set out to record an album but were set-back by last minute time-restrictions and logistical difficulties. When the dust had settled we found ourselves with usable recordings of 4 tunes to which we added Seth Scott Deuchar’s remix of ‘Jesus mi Amigo’. Seth had invited Arlet to record in a studio at Guildhall School of Music which was a real eye-opener for us, being almost completely acoustically dry. We were blown away by what he did with our multi-tracked parts, delving deep into the composition to re-arrange and re-style it in his own voice.
With the rest of the recording we were spoiled with the opportunity to record in Canterbury Steiner School hall, and wonderfully warm and woody acoustic, with a magic ‘sweet spot’ in the centre of the stage. We remain grateful to Larry Klatzko and the school for lending us the use of that space.
Without the luxury of recording booths and acoustic treatment panels, this EP was recorded Live, warts and all, and gives the overall sound a distinct chamber music quality.
