Our debut album, recorded around Easter 2013 in the surroundings of Wicker Studios in Kent. 10 tracks which have formed the backbone of our repertoire for the past 3 years, and representing much of the early material written for the group by Aidan.

After Seth Scott Deuchar’s lucious remix of ‘Jesus mi Amigo’ on our EP, we were keen to involve him again and this time presented him with some stems from the recording session, offering him carte blanche to create something from them. He came back with a beautiful introduction to ‘Summertimes’ which just had to be included.

As the band moves forwards to pastures new there are always new pieces being written, and although some of the tracks on this album find themselves occasionally sidelined at gigs in favour of newer pieces, the album continues to represent the early moves of Arlet as we clamber to our collective feet, grab our instruments and venture forth…

Intelligently subtle and modest in its entwinement of folk, electronic and orchestral elements.. Bright Young Folk
..an intelligently coordinated blend of sounds and timbres.. admirers of Penguin Cafe Orchestra or more recently Lau and Spiro will find much that is subtly stimulating here. fRoots
Just once in a while an album comes along that takes you to places you hadn’t realised existed. Arlet’s 'Clearing' did this, and much more, for me. Folk Radio UK
